BYD Updates Sealion 7 Lineup in Malaysia With New Entry-Level Variant
The refreshed 2026 BYD Sealion 7 introduces a new base model and enhanced charging performance starting from RM159,800.

Sime Motors has officially launched the 2026 BYD Sealion 7 in Malaysia, bringing subtle but impactful revisions to the electric SUV family. The updated lineup now includes a new entry-level Dynamic variant, which sits alongside the existing Premium and Performance models.
According to the original publisher, the pricing for the 2026 BYD Sealion 7 starts at RM163,800 for the Dynamic RWD, RM188,800 for the Premium RWD, and RM203,800 for the top-spec Performance AWD. To mark the launch, the first 300 customers who purchase the Dynamic variant are eligible for a RM4,000 rebate, effectively lowering the starting price to RM159,800. Alternatively, all customers have the option to receive a free AC wallbox charger.
The 2026 model year introduces improvements to battery capacity and charging speeds across the range. Each vehicle is supported by a comprehensive warranty package, which includes a 6-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, supplemented by an 8-year or 160,000km warranty specifically for the EV battery and drive unit. Furthermore, every unit is equipped with a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter and a portable Type 2 AC charger featuring a 3-pin plug.
These updates represent a significant push by BYD to capture a larger segment of the Malaysian electric vehicle market. By introducing a more accessible entry price point and addressing consumer demand for faster charging capabilities, the 2026 Sealion 7 aims to maintain its competitive edge as local EV adoption continues to grow. The inclusion of V2L technology and standard charging equipment provides added practical value for owners looking to integrate their vehicles into their daily energy needs.
