Cyclone RT2S Quarter-Litre Scooter Launched in Malaysia for RM13,888
Mforce has introduced the new 2026 Cyclone RT2S to the local market, targeting middle-weight scooter buyers with a high-spec equipment list.

The 2026 Cyclone RT2S has officially entered the Malaysian market, priced at RM13,888. This figure excludes essential costs such as road tax, insurance, and vehicle registration fees.
The quarter-litre scooter made its initial local appearance during the Malaysia Bike Show in May. Its commercial launch was recently formalised alongside the opening of the Mforce Smartshop KW Keat Wei Motor dealership in Langgar, Alor Setar, as noted by the original publisher.
At the heart of the RT2S is a 247 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve single-cylinder engine. The powertrain is tuned to produce 19.5 kW at 8,500 rpm and 24.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Power is delivered to the rear wheel through a CVT automatic transmission and belt drive system. The scooter features a 12.6-litre fuel tank designed to support longer commutes and touring.
The chassis is supported by telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. For safety, the bike utilises 270 mm front and 220 mm rear hydraulic disc brakes, with two-channel ABS included as standard. The RT2S rides on 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheels, with a seat height of 750 mm and a dry weight of 179 kg.
For the Malaysian consumer, the arrival of the RT2S represents a strategic option in the mid-range motorcycle segment. With a retail price of RM13,888, it sits in a competitive bracket for urban commuters who require more power than entry-level kapcais but seek better fuel efficiency and lower maintenance costs than larger motorcycles. The inclusion of front and rear dash cams as standard equipment provides a significant value-add, potentially saving riders the cost of aftermarket installation for peace of mind in high-traffic urban areas.
The inclusion of connectivity features, such as the Cyclone Store app and a USB Type-A charging port, reflects the evolving expectations of Malaysia’s younger, tech-savvy workforce. For delivery riders or those navigating daily city traffic, the adjustable windscreen and traction control system offer a level of comfort and safety that is becoming increasingly standard in the premium scooter category.
This launch arrives against the backdrop of a resilient Malaysian economy, which recently recorded a 6.0% year-on-year real GDP growth. As fuel prices remain a critical consideration for motorists—with RON95 currently priced at RM1.99 under the BUDI95 scheme and RM2.05 under the SKPS—the mid-sized scooter market continues to serve as an essential mobility alternative to four-wheeled vehicles for many SMEs and individual workers.
The RT2S competes in a crowded market space where durability and parts availability are key performance indicators. Given Malaysia's current unemployment rate of 3.0%, the accessibility of financing for this price point will likely determine how quickly the model gains market share. Potential buyers should watch for how Mforce builds out its service network to support the advanced electronics integrated into this specific model.
Whether the RT2S will see future variants or if further performance tuning options will be made available through Mforce dealerships remains unconfirmed at this time.
