EPMB Launches RM9.5 Million Facility to Produce Proton Chassis Parts

The new Tanjong Malim plant aims to boost local manufacturing capabilities for key automotive components.

EP Manufacturing Bhd (EPMB) has officially inaugurated a new RM9.5 million production facility in Tanjong Malim. This plant is specifically designed to localise the manufacturing of key chassis components intended for selected Proton vehicle models.

The facility is situated within the Automotive High Technology Valley. According to the original publisher, operations at this site are managed under Peps Sanly JV Sdn Bhd, which serves as a joint venture entity for EPMB.

By establishing this production hub, EPMB aims to strengthen domestic automotive supply chain capabilities. A primary objective of this investment is to reduce the industry's reliance on imported parts for the national car manufacturer.

This development marks a significant step in the localisation of automotive component manufacturing in Malaysia. By shifting production closer to home, the company intends to enhance the efficiency and resilience of the supply chain for Proton vehicles.

For the Malaysian automotive sector, this move signals a broader effort to expand local industrial capacity. Enhancing domestic production of chassis components supports the growth of the Automotive High Technology Valley and contributes to the ongoing evolution of the country’s manufacturing landscape.
