Kuro EV Launches Merdeka Promotion with RM0.88 per kWh Charging Rate

EV owners can access discounted DC fast charging at selected locations throughout August to celebrate the upcoming national holiday.

Kuro EV has announced a special promotional rate for its direct current (DC) charging services in celebration of the 2026 Merdeka season. From 1 August to 31 August 2026, electric vehicle owners can charge their vehicles at a rate of RM0.88 per kWh, a significant discount from the standard pricing.

According to the original publisher, the promotion applies to two specific locations equipped with 50kW DC chargers featuring dual CCS2 connectors. Users can access this rate at the Wisma Datapath or Indah UPC facility located on Old Klang Road, as well as at One South Street Mall in Seri Kembangan.

The discounted rate represents a notable reduction from the usual charging fee of RM1.20 per kWh. While Kuro EV periodically offers promotional pricing throughout the year, this latest initiative matches the duration of the one-month period seen during the company's 2025 Ramadan and Raya campaign.

At the Old Klang Road site, the Tritium RTM DC charger is situated within the basement carpark, with access provided behind the Yadea showroom near the Petron petrol station. The Seri Kembangan location provides two curbside charging bays located in the open area near the East Entrance of One South Street Mall.

For Malaysian EV drivers, this promotion is significant as RM0.88 per kWh is lower than the typical fees charged for many alternating current (AC) charging points currently available in the market. By providing a lower cost for DC fast charging, the move potentially lowers the barrier for commuters looking to utilize high-speed charging infrastructure during the month of August.
