Malaysia’s Bufori CS8 Ultra High Performance GT Reaches Final Production Phase

Hand-built in a Kepong facility, the Bufori CS8 has entered the final stretch of its development, with the first customer units scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2027. This ultra-high performance grand tourer, which carries a starting price of RM2.188 million, is the latest release from the Malaysian automaker and follows a decade of rigorous testing and design refinement.

The production version of the CS8 has seen significant architectural changes compared to its earlier prototypes. According to the original publisher, the vehicle now features a 2,609 mm wheelbase that has been lengthened by 350 mm. These modifications allowed engineers to move the 6.4-liter V8 engine behind the front axle, adopting a front-mid layout. This adjustment improves the vehicle's proportions and increases interior space, specifically within the driver footwell area.

Constructed from the company's signature carbon-kevlar hybrid composite, the vehicle is designed for high-performance driving. Following its official launch in August 2025, Bufori has moved to the final testing phase, with a demonstration model currently being made available for test drives by high-net-worth individuals. Those familiar with the project may recall the initial CS prototype unveiled in 2019, which itself was preceded by race car concepts dating back to 2009.

The completion of the CS8 highlights a significant milestone for local automotive manufacturing, demonstrating the ability to develop complex, high-performance machinery within Malaysia. By transitioning from long-term prototype development to final pre-delivery testing, Bufori is showcasing the longevity and patience required to bring a bespoke, high-value product to the global luxury automotive market.
