MINI Malaysia Launches Limited-Run Desert Night Countryman S Edition

MINI Malaysia has unveiled the 2026 MINI Countryman S Desert Night, a limited-edition model restricted to just 48 units. This SUV serves as the second localised special edition of the third-generation U25 Countryman, following the Fiery Stallion released earlier this year.

The special edition features a design scheme inspired by the Bahrain Grand Prix, utilizing black and gold highlights intended to evoke the aesthetic of the desert at night. According to the original publisher, exterior additions include sand dune door stripes, a black bumper strip that extends the front grille design, and specialized branding on the C-pillar. The vehicle also sports 20-inch Windmill Spoke two-tone alloy wheels with custom valve stem caps.

Under the hood, the Countryman S is powered by a 2.0-litre B48 turbocharged four-cylinder engine, delivering 204 PS and 300 Nm of torque. This unit is paired with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and an All4 all-wheel-drive system. Performance metrics include a zero to 100 km/h acceleration time of 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 228 km/h.

The base price for the vehicle is RM267,333 on-the-road without insurance, rising to RM277,733 with the optional five-year warranty and service package. Customers who place a booking before the Bahrain Grand Prix on October 4 are eligible for a RM12,000 cash rebate. This incentive reduces the starting price to RM255,333, positioning the variant at a premium over the standard Countryman S All4 model. Standard equipment for the limited release includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

For the Malaysian automotive market, this launch represents an ongoing strategy by MINI to offer highly exclusive, themed vehicles tailored to specific regional events. By capping production at 48 units, the manufacturer emphasizes rarity, providing a distinct aesthetic package for enthusiasts who prioritize unique exterior styling alongside the mechanical performance of the current generation Countryman S platform.
