Perodua Slashes Prices On Axia Lineup By Up To RM4,700
The national automaker has reduced the retail price of its popular Axia models as part of an effort to ease cost pressures for Malaysian consumers.

Perodua has announced an immediate price reduction across its Axia vehicle lineup, with discounts reaching as high as RM4,700. According to the original publisher, the company stated that these adjustments reflect improvements in operational efficiency and confirm that all existing specifications and quality standards for the vehicles remain unchanged.
The price cuts vary significantly across the different variants of the model. The entry-level 1.0G sees the most substantial reduction, with its price in Peninsular Malaysia dropping to RM33,900 from RM38,600. Meanwhile, the 1.0X model is now priced at RM38,500, the 1.0SE at RM43,000, and the top-spec 1.0AV at RM49,000. Similar price revisions have been applied to the East Malaysian market, though the manual Axia E variant remains unaffected at its current price of RM22,000.
Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad noted that this pricing strategy is part of a broader commitment to assist Malaysians facing ongoing cost pressures. This initiative follows other recent company efforts to reduce consumer expenses, including maintenance and service charge reductions of up to 10%, alongside revised pricing for the QV-E electric vehicle and its associated Battery-as-a-Service model.
For potential buyers, the price reduction offers immediate savings, though financial experts advise careful planning before committing to a purchase. It remains essential for prospective car owners to compare financing interest rates across different banking institutions to ensure monthly repayment commitments remain manageable and align with individual financial health.
These adjustments arrive as part of a trend in the local automotive sector to provide more affordable mobility solutions. For Malaysian households managing budgets, these reductions provide a timely opportunity to lower the entry cost of vehicle ownership. However, consumers are reminded to assess their long-term affordability regardless of the upfront discount provided by the manufacturer.
