TikTok Shop Outlines Massive Expansion Plan for Singapore E-commerce
The platform aims to upskill thousands of sellers and content creators to bolster its regional ecosystem.

TikTok Shop has announced a significant initiative to scale its e-commerce infrastructure in Singapore, focusing on the professional development of its local partners. The platform intends to provide structured training to at least 1,000 local sellers by the end of 2027 and to more than 3,000 content creators by the end of 2026.
According to the original publisher, these figures coincide with a period of notable growth for the platform, which has seen its gross merchandise value (GMV) increase by 1.7 times. The training programmes are designed to integrate these participants more deeply into the existing TikTok Shop ecosystem, facilitating further expansion within the competitive Singaporean digital market.
This strategic move follows a statement released by TikTok on Tuesday, which detailed the company’s long-term commitment to human capital development within its retail framework. By formalising its support for both vendors and digital influencers, the company seeks to standardise operational quality and foster growth among its user base.
The focus on professionalising the creator economy and seller operations marks a shift toward long-term sustainability for social commerce platforms. For the broader Southeast Asian region, including Malaysia, these developments serve as a bellwether for how TikTok Shop may eventually scale its own seller and creator enablement programmes to meet rising demand and increasing transaction volumes in neighbouring markets.
