Volvo Malaysia Confirms Imminent Arrival Of Updated 2026 EX90 Electric SUV

Volvo Car Malaysia has officially announced that it will soon introduce the updated 2026 Volvo EX90 to the local market. The company confirmed the upcoming launch via its social media channels, though specific details regarding local variants, pricing, and an exact release date have yet to be disclosed.

According to the original publisher, the updated EX90 features a significant technical upgrade by transitioning from a 400V to an 800V electrical architecture. This shift allows the vehicle to support DC charging speeds of up to 350kW, an improvement over the previous 250kW limit. Volvo claims that this upgrade enables the vehicle to gain up to 250km of range from just a 10-minute charge when using a compatible high-speed charger. Additionally, the new architecture enhances overall vehicle efficiency while simultaneously reducing the weight of both the electric motors and the battery pack.

The 2026 model retains the 111kWh battery, which provides a WLTP-rated range of up to 623km. Power remains substantial, with the Twin Motor Performance configuration delivering 380kW—equivalent to 510hp—and 910Nm of torque. Beyond powertrain improvements, Volvo has overhauled the vehicle’s computing hardware. The SUV now utilizes a dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin-based system capable of 500 TOPS, which facilitates the integration of new safety features.
