Bukit Chagar RTS Station To Feature New Pedestrian Link For Transit Access

The Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link will feature a new pedestrian connection designed to improve passenger access to Malaysia’s wider rail network. The project will directly link the Bukit Chagar RTS station to the nearby Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) station, facilitating smoother travel for commuters moving between the systems.

According to the original publisher, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that the infrastructure project is expected to cost RM60 million. The construction of this pedestrian connection is slated to take approximately 12 months to complete once work commences.

Beyond the rail integration, the transit hub at Bukit Chagar is planned to incorporate dispersal systems for bus and taxi services. These arrangements are intended to provide a comprehensive connectivity solution for passengers arriving from Singapore, allowing for seamless transitions to local transportation options throughout Johor Bahru.

This development is significant for Malaysian commuters and frequent travelers who rely on cross-border transport.
