Malaysia Launches Enhanced MyKad Featuring NFC and 53 Security Layers

The rollout is scheduled to commence on 17 September 2026, with the National Registration Department (JPN) deploying the technology across 40 selected JPN and Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) branches capable of same-day issuance.
