DC Handal Installs High-Powered 240kW EV Charger in Ipoh

The new charging station at Symphony Suites Hotel expands Perak's high-speed electric vehicle infrastructure.

DC Handal has officially expanded its electric vehicle charging network in Perak by deploying a 240kW DC fast charger at the Symphony Suites Hotel in Ipoh. This new installation stands as the company’s most powerful charging site currently available in the city, providing a significant boost for EV owners navigating the northern corridor.

The site features an Autel 240kW DC charger equipped with two CCS2 nozzles, allowing for the simultaneous charging of two vehicles. The chargers are situated under a covered area, offering protection from the elements for those topping up their batteries. According to the original publisher, SoyaCincau, this site is strategically positioned to serve both hotel guests and commuters passing through the area.

Users can access the chargers at a rate of RM1.40 per kWh. DC Handal maintains its commitment to ease of access by allowing payment directly via credit or debit cards at the terminal. The station also supports TNG eWallet QR payments, alongside app-based activation through major platforms including Gentari Go, JomCharge, and ChargEV.

This development is significant for Malaysian EV drivers, particularly those traveling along the North-South Expressway or visiting the state of Perak. As the adoption of electric vehicles continues to grow across the country, the addition of high-capacity charging hubs in key urban centers like Ipoh helps to alleviate range anxiety and supports the broader transition toward electrified transport in Malaysia.
