Facelifted Geely Galaxy E5 Revealed As Proton eMas 7 Undergoes Technical Refresh

Geely has officially unveiled the 2027 Galaxy E5, known globally as the EX5, ahead of its scheduled September 23 launch. This model serves as the mechanical twin to the anticipated Proton eMas 7, marking a swift update cycle for the vehicle just three months after initial filings appeared with the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The exterior design retains the familiar, featureless SUV silhouette, slim headlamps, and a full-width taillight signature. However, the front fascia has been revised with a new bumper featuring a wide black strip that curves upward at the corners to house air curtain inlets, lending the vehicle a distinct, wider appearance. A prominent silver chin, which integrates the central air intake, completes the exterior updates. The vehicle now rolls on a new selection of 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels, consistent with the styling language found on the latest Galaxy range.

Dimensional changes are subtle but present; the facelifted model is 21 mm longer and 19 mm wider than its predecessor, measuring 4,636 mm in length and 1,920 mm in width. The height remains 1,670 mm, and the 2,750 mm wheelbase is unchanged. Inside, the cabin features a more conventional three-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel, replacing the oblong two-spoke design found in the outgoing model. The SUV continues to offer premium features such as a one-touch zero-gravity passenger seat with an ottoman, a panoramic sunroof, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
