DPS Resources Partners With CEIG for Melaka Data Centre Development
DPS Resources subsidiaries and CEIG have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore data centre and energy infrastructure projects in Melaka.

DPS Resources Bhd has announced that its subsidiaries have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CEIG (M) Sdn Bhd to collaborate on the development of data centres and their necessary supporting energy infrastructure. The agreement focuses on the state of Melaka as the primary location for these future projects.
The collaborative initiative involves two specific subsidiaries under the DPS Resources group: DPS Energy Sdn Bhd and Shantawood Sdn Bhd. They will work alongside CEIG (M) Sdn Bhd, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the China Energy International Group Co Ltd.
According to the original publisher, the scope of this partnership is designed to cover the planning and exploration of data centre facilities. Furthermore, the MoU outlines plans to develop the energy infrastructure required to support the high power demands associated with such technical operations in the region.
This move marks a significant step for DPS Resources as it expands its focus into the infrastructure and technology space. By leveraging the technical background of China Energy International Group’s local subsidiary, the group aims to establish a foothold in the growing digital infrastructure market in Malaysia.
As Malaysia continues to position itself as a regional hub for data centres, such partnerships are essential for building the foundational power systems needed to support large-scale digital operations. The success of this exploration phase will be monitored to determine the future scale and feasibility of data centre deployments in Melaka.
