Ingress Exits Premium Automotive Dealerships to Focus on Mass-Market Brands
Ingress Corporation has divested its Volvo, BMW, and MINI dealership operations while maintaining its presence in the domestic and EV market.

Ingress Corporation has officially exited its dealership business for premium automotive brands Volvo, BMW, and MINI. The transition marks a significant shift in the group’s retail footprint within the Malaysian automotive sector.
According to the original publisher, Ingress Swede Automobile concluded its operations as a Volvo dealer on August 1. Simultaneously, the group’s BMW and MINI dealerships have transitioned under new management. These outlets have been acquired by Sime Motors and subsequently rebranded as Performance Motors. This follows a joint venture established in May of last year between Sime Motors and Ingress Corporation to form Performance Motors Malaysia, a group now responsible for BMW Damansara, BMW Bandar Puteri Puchong, and MINI Bangsar.
Despite these divestments, Ingress retains a portfolio of dealerships representing Perodua, Mitsubishi, and the newly introduced Proton eMas. The group’s remaining network includes a Perodua outlet at The Curve in Mutiara Damansara and three Mitsubishi locations situated in Bandar Bukit Puchong, Bandar Baru Bangi, and Seksyen 23 Shah Alam. Additionally, the group continues to operate its Proton eMas dealership located in Seksyen 8, Bandar Baru Bangi.
The consolidation of dealership networks reflects ongoing structural changes within the Malaysian automotive retail landscape as major conglomerates reshuffle their portfolios. By offloading premium brands and focusing on mass-market and emerging EV players like Proton eMas, Ingress is aligning its business strategy with a different segment of the domestic consumer market. For Malaysian car buyers, these shifts often signify changes in service center operations and customer experience as ownership and management protocols are updated under new dealership banners.
