Bus Cap Berhad Partners With BYD For Malaysian Electric Bus Assembly

Bus Cap Berhad, a Malaysia-based bus builder listed on Bursa Malaysia, announced on Wednesday that it has entered into an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding with BYD Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. This partnership aims to jointly advance a new energy commercial vehicle platform within the Malaysian market.

According to the original publisher, the collaboration is anchored by the proposed establishment of a localized electric bus assembly and manufacturing facility. The site for this manufacturing facility is slated for Perak.

This initiative represents a significant step in developing a localized supply chain for new energy vehicles. By leveraging the expertise of a major global manufacturer alongside local assembly capabilities, the partnership seeks to integrate specialized production processes directly into the domestic industrial sector.
