EVPower Announces Large-Scale 27-Bay Charging Hub at Vitória Melaka

The new charging facility will feature a 1.28MW total capacity to support both rapid and long-stay EV charging needs.

EVPower has announced plans to deploy a significant electric vehicle charging hub at the Vitória commercial development in Kota Laksamana, Melaka. The facility is set to become a major charging destination, featuring a total of 27 dedicated bays and a planned power capacity of up to 1.28MW.

The charging infrastructure at the site will be split between different charging speeds to accommodate various user needs. According to the original publisher, the hub will feature 12 DC fast-charging bays for drivers requiring a quick power boost, alongside 15 AC charging bays designed for visitors who plan to spend a longer duration at the commercial development.

To streamline the user experience, EVPower has confirmed that the hub will support smart contactless payment capabilities. This integration is designed to simplify the activation and payment process for EV owners visiting the premises. The collaboration was formalised between the charge point operator and Gene & Quin Development, the developer behind Vitória, during the commercial project's launch event.

EVPower CEO Cornelius Ee noted that such charging infrastructure is becoming an essential component of modern commercial developments. The company intends to treat the charging site as more than just a peripheral utility, aiming to integrate it deeply into the core infrastructure of the Vitória property.

For the Malaysian automotive market, this deployment highlights the growing trend of integrating high-capacity charging solutions directly into urban commercial hubs. As the adoption of electric vehicles increases across the country, providing scalable charging options in strategic locations like Melaka is essential to supporting longer travel distances and reducing range anxiety for EV drivers.
