Gentari Expands High-Speed Charging Network With New Mutiara Damansara Hub

Gentari has officially expanded its electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the Klang Valley with the deployment of a high-powered 220kW DC charger at the Petronas station in Mutiara Damansara.

According to the original publisher, the new installation features two CCS2 charging nozzles capable of delivering high-speed power to compatible electric vehicles. The charger is now fully operational and accessible through multiple charging platforms, including Gentari Go, JomCharge, and ChargEV.

The charging service is priced at RM1.60 per kWh. To streamline the user experience, the station is equipped with AutoCharge technology. This feature allows drivers who have previously enrolled their vehicles via the Gentari Go app to bypass manual activation steps, enabling a plug-and-charge experience that significantly reduces the time spent at the station.

In conjunction with the launch, Gentari is offering an introductory promotion to encourage adoption. Users can redeem a 15% discount on their charging sessions by using the promo code GO15MD. This offer is valid for a limited period, expiring on 25 September 2026. The station also enforces an idle fee of RM0.40 per minute for vehicles that remain parked at the bay for more than 15 minutes after their charging cycle has concluded, a measure intended to improve throughput and prevent charging congestion.

For the Malaysian consumer, this development addresses one of the primary hurdles to mass EV adoption: the perceived lack of reliable, high-speed charging infrastructure in busy commercial hubs. With Mutiara Damansara serving as a high-traffic retail and business district, the placement of this charger provides a practical solution for urban commuters who may not have access to home charging facilities.
