Honda Malaysia to Debut E-Clutch Equipped Transalp 750 This December
The updated adventure-tourer joins the local Honda lineup, bringing sophisticated clutch-less technology to the popular 750 cc mid-weight platform.

Honda Malaysia has confirmed that the 2026 Honda Transalp 750 will arrive in the local market this December, featuring the brand’s innovative E-Clutch technology. This strategic update marks the second model in Honda’s local motorcycle lineup to adopt the system, following its implementation in the CB750 Hornet.
According to the original publisher, the adventure-tourer will retain the performance characteristics of its predecessor, powered by a 755 cc liquid-cooled, SOHC parallel-twin engine. This unit generates 90.5 hp at 9,500 rpm and 75 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. While the previous 2025 model was priced at RM56,800, official pricing for the 2026 E-Clutch variant remains unconfirmed as of mid-September 2026.
The E-Clutch system is designed to allow riders to shift gears without the need to manually operate the clutch lever, even when coming to a complete stop or pulling away from a standstill. The bike continues to feature a traditional six-speed gearbox, supplemented by an assist and slipper clutch and chain final drive. The machine carries a 16.9-litre fuel tank, a standard seat height of 850 mm (with an 820 mm option available), and a kerb weight of 208 kg.
Tech upgrades for the 2026 model include a refined five-inch TFT-LCD instrument display engineered for better daylight visibility and reduced glare. The cockpit now integrates a redesigned left handlebar switchgear featuring backlit toggles for improved ergonomics. Connectivity is managed via Honda’s RoadSync application, allowing Android and iPhone users to sync their smartphones directly to the motorcycle.
For Malaysian riders, the introduction of E-Clutch represents a shift toward higher technological accessibility in the mid-capacity adventure segment. By automating the most taxing aspect of urban riding—clutch control in stop-start traffic—the Transalp becomes a more viable option for commuters who also seek weekend touring capability. This shift is particularly relevant given the ongoing rise in fuel costs for private vehicles; as Malaysians navigate a landscape where unsubsidized RON95 petrol reaches RM4.02 per litre, efficient, high-performance motorcycles are increasingly viewed as pragmatic alternatives to passenger cars.
The decision to bring this technology to Malaysia suggests that Honda is positioning itself to capture a more diverse demographic of riders. It appeals to those who prioritize convenience without sacrificing the mechanical engagement of a traditional manual gearbox, which can still be used at the rider’s discretion. For the local SME sector and motorcycle dealerships, this launch offers a premium product to anchor their inventory heading into the new year.
This launch occurs against a backdrop of steady economic performance, with Malaysia reporting a real GDP growth of 6.0% and an unemployment rate of 3.0% as of mid-2026. While headline inflation remains relatively controlled at 1.8%, the cost of consumer goods and fuel remains a primary concern for the average household. The Transalp occupies a competitive segment where value-for-money is scrutinized; the successful integration of E-Clutch could set a new benchmark for what riders expect from their mid-weight adventure machines.
Looking ahead, the market will be watching to see how the addition of E-Clutch affects the final showroom price compared to the 2025 model. With the official market entry set for December, interested buyers are still awaiting confirmation on the full list of accessories and the final Malaysian retail price.
