Huawei MatePad Air 2026 Set for Malaysia Launch on 18 August

Huawei Malaysia has confirmed that the new Huawei MatePad Air 2026 will officially launch in the local market on 18 August 2026. As the successor to the original model released in 2023, the tablet features hardware upgrades across its display, audio capabilities, camera systems, and battery capacity.

Ahead of the launch, the company has introduced an early preorder promotion for Malaysian customers. According to the original publisher, those who place a RM100 deposit can secure a RM500 rebate and a collection of free gifts valued at up to RM4,003. The promotional bundle includes the Huawei Smart Magnetic Keyboard, the Huawei M Pencil Pro stylus, a Huawei Wireless Mouse, a one-year WPS AI subscription, access to AI-powered Huawei Notes, and Huawei Premium Service.

Specific items included in the retail box depend on the chosen tablet colour. Customers who opt for the Airy Blue or White variants will receive the Huawei Smart Magnetic Keyboard included in their purchase. Conversely, those who choose the Sakura Pink model will receive the Huawei M Pencil Pro stylus as part of their package.

While the official local retail pricing remains undisclosed until the launch event on 18 August, some context on the tablet's value can be drawn from international markets. European pricing for the standard 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration starts at EUR849, which converts to approximately RM3,896.
