KLIA Terminal 1 Upgrades E-Hailing Pickup Point With Live Tracking System

Malaysia Airports has introduced a new display system and access fee structure for e-hailing services at KLIA Terminal 1.

Travellers utilizing e-hailing services at KL International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 will encounter a revamped pickup experience at the Main Terminal Building. Malaysia Airports has implemented several technical upgrades at the Level 1 e-hailing zone to streamline passenger management and vehicle flow.

According to the original publisher, a key addition to the facility is the Passenger Information Display System. This technology is designed to provide real-time tracking and updates for those waiting to be collected, offering a more structured approach to navigating the pickup area.

Alongside these infrastructure improvements, a new financial requirement has been introduced for service providers. E-hailing drivers entering the designated pickup zone at Level 1 are now subject to a RM3 entry fee. This charge is part of the operational adjustments made to the terminal’s transport management system.

The integration of live tracking technology and revised entry protocols represents a shift in how the airport manages the high volume of traffic generated by ride-sharing services. For Malaysian passengers and frequent flyers, these changes are intended to improve the organization of the pickup process at the country’s primary international gateway.
