Oriental Holdings Extends Deadline for RM411 Million Property Acquisition
The conglomerate has pushed back the conditional period for its hotel and property deal in Penang and Langkawi by two months.

Oriental Holdings Bhd (OHB) has announced a two-month extension to the conditional period for its proposed RM411 million property and hospitality acquisition package. This deal involves significant assets located in Penang and Langkawi.
The extension was finalized through a mutual agreement reached in August between OHB, Boon Siew Sdn Bhd (BSSB), and Northam Georgetown Sdn Bhd (NGSB). CIMB Investment Bank Berhad, serving as the advisor on behalf of OHB, confirmed the adjustment to the timeline. According to the original publisher, this development delays the original completion schedule for the high-value transaction.
The acquisition package is a substantial investment for Oriental Holdings, marking a strategic move to bolster its property and hospitality portfolio in northern Malaysia. By extending the conditional period, the parties involved are allowing more time to satisfy the necessary requirements to finalize the transition of these assets.
This extension is noteworthy for Malaysian investors and stakeholders observing the local hospitality and property sectors. As OHB moves to consolidate these assets, the market will continue to track how the group integrates these holdings into its broader financial framework once the conditions are finally met.
