Proton To Launch Nationwide e.MAS Branded DC Charging Network

PRO-NET partners with five major charging operators to roll out branded DC fast chargers across Malaysia.

Protonโ€™s electric vehicle subsidiary, PRO-NET, has officially confirmed plans to deploy e.MAS branded DC charging stations across Malaysia. This initiative marks a significant expansion of the automaker's involvement in the local EV infrastructure landscape, with the deployment scheduled to take place within this year.

According to the original publisher, the project is supported by strategic partnerships with five major charging point operators (CPOs). The companies involved in this collaborative rollout are ChargeSini, Charge+, JomCharge, RExharge, and Time Charge N Go. These operators will assist PRO-NET in both the deployment and the ongoing management of the new branded charging facilities.

This move builds upon prior cooperation between PRO-NET and these CPOs, which previously focused on enhancing charging accessibility for owners of e.MAS and smart vehicles. Past initiatives included the installation of chargers at various dealerships and residential high-rise buildings. One such residential program currently offers charging rates starting from RM0.63 per kWh at selected sites across hundreds of locations.

The latest announcement signifies a transition from general network partnerships to a more direct, brand-focused strategy for Proton. By establishing its own branded DC chargers, the company aims to solidify its presence in the national charging ecosystem.

For Malaysian EV owners, this development is a key indicator of the maturing electric vehicle market in the country. As Proton deepens its commitment to infrastructure, the availability of high-speed DC charging is expected to address range anxiety and improve the overall ownership experience for local drivers. The collaboration ensures that Proton's growing fleet of EVs will have a dedicated and reliable network of chargers to support long-distance travel and daily commuting requirements nationwide.
