Razorpay Curlec Integrates DuitNow Pay to Streamline Malaysian E-Commerce Payments
The fintech firm has rolled out a unified checkout solution that merges various bank and e-wallet options into a single, standardized interface for local merchants.

Razorpay Curlec has officially integrated DuitNow Pay into its online checkout system in Malaysia, providing a unified payment gateway that consolidates multiple banking and e-wallet options into one streamlined interface.
According to the original publisher, this development aims to simplify the transaction process for both businesses and consumers. By offering a single, standardized checkout screen, merchants can provide their customers with a consistent experience regardless of which bank or digital wallet they choose to use for their online purchases.
The mechanism is designed to reduce transaction friction. When a consumer reaches a merchant’s checkout page, they can select the DuitNow Pay option. A search function allows users to quickly filter and select their preferred financial institution or e-wallet provider from a comprehensive list. Once the selection is made, the user is redirected to a secure bank login portal to authorize the payment.
Razorpay Curlec noted that it is among the first Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) participants to introduce this service to the local business community. The company emphasized that this unified approach is specifically intended to lower cart abandonment rates—often referred to as drop-offs—while facilitating faster and more secure conversion rates for local retailers.
For Malaysian consumers, this shift represents a move toward greater convenience in an increasingly digital economy. As online shopping continues to be a staple of household consumption, the ability to access various payment channels through a single, secure gateway reduces the cognitive load during the checkout process. For the average Malaysian, this means less time navigating disparate payment portals and more consistent security protocols across different vendors.
For local SMEs, the implementation of this system is a strategic asset. With Malaysia’s economy currently experiencing a robust 6.0% year-on-year real GDP growth, businesses are under pressure to capture consumer spending efficiently. By integrating a standardized, high-trust payment method like DuitNow, smaller retailers can provide the same level of professional checkout infrastructure as larger e-commerce platforms, potentially helping them maintain competitiveness in a busy digital marketplace.
This integration arrives at a time when the Malaysian retail sector is balancing growth with inflationary pressures, currently tracked at 1.8% year-on-year. As businesses look for ways to optimize their operations amidst broader economic shifts, digital infrastructure that accelerates payment processing can be a vital component in maintaining cash flow.
Looking ahead, Razorpay Curlec has indicated that this initial rollout is merely the beginning of its strategy for the platform. The company has confirmed plans to introduce additional DuitNow Pay-related features in the future, though it has not yet provided a specific roadmap or timeline for these subsequent updates.
While the technical mechanics of the current integration are clear, it remains to be confirmed exactly which banks and specific e-wallets will be included in the initial launch phase. Furthermore, the company has not yet disclosed if there will be tiered transaction fee structures or specific onboarding requirements for merchants looking to activate this feature immediately.
