The highly anticipated RM200 "Madani" tickets for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2026, set to take place at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC), have officially sold out. Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari confirmed the news, noting that the entire allocation of the discounted passes has been exhausted shortly after they were made available to the public.
According to the original publisher, the ministry is currently evaluating the feasibility of releasing additional Madani tickets. Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari stated that officials are reviewing whether there is sufficient capacity and demand to open up further subsidized spots for the race. Updates regarding potential ticket expansions will be shared with the public as they become available.
The special Madani tickets were designed for Malaysian citizens holding a valid MyKad, offering entry to the G Hillstand with a view of Turns 4, 5, and 6. Following the official release of ticket prices on August 13—which followed a premature leak of the pricing structure—SIC reported strong public interest, characterized by significant wait times for those attempting to purchase tickets online.
For spectators who were unable to secure the limited RM200 passes, other seating options remain available. Tickets for the B Hillstand, which offers views of Turns 13 and 14, and the C Hillstand, covering Turns 9, 10, and 11, are currently listed at RM809.60. The Formula 1 event is scheduled to be held from October 2 to 4, 2026.
This rapid sell-out highlights the intense appetite among Malaysians for high-profile motorsport events returning to the Sepang circuit. The Madani ticket initiative served as a significant measure to ensure local fans could access the international race at a more accessible price point, mirroring strategies previously employed for events like the MotoGP.
