Samsung Malaysia Slashes Galaxy Ring Price by 45 Percent
Consumers can pick up the wearable device for as little as RM11.55 by leveraging Samsung Rewards points before the end of September.

Samsung Malaysia has announced a significant price reduction for its Galaxy Ring, offering the wearable device at a 45 percent discount for a limited time. The promotion, which is currently live, lowers the entry price from the original retail value of RM2,099 to RM1,154.45. This deal remains valid until 30 September 2026, or until current inventory is exhausted.
According to the original publisher, the most aggressive pricing scenario allows customers to secure the device for just RM11.55. This is made possible through the Samsung Rewards programme, where points are valued at RM0.03 each. By utilising these points to cover up to 99 percent of the transaction, users can offset the promotional price of RM1,154.45 with a maximum redemption of RM1,142.90 in rewards.
To achieve this specific price point, a user would require approximately 38,097 Samsung Rewards points. However, the offer is flexible; customers are not required to hold the full amount of points to participate. Any accumulated balance can be applied toward the purchase, with the remaining balance settled via standard payment methods. Potential buyers are encouraged to verify their current point balances through the Samsung Wallet app or their official Samsung account.
The Galaxy Ring serves as a discreet, minimalist alternative to traditional wrist-worn fitness trackers. Weighing between 2.3g and 3.3g depending on the chosen size and measuring only 2.6mm in thickness, the ring houses an accelerometer, an optical heart rate sensor, and a skin temperature sensor. It integrates directly with the Samsung Health app to provide comprehensive tracking of heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and sleep patterns, including advanced features like sleep coaching and snore detection when used with a compatible, charging phone.
For Malaysian consumers, this promotion represents a notable shift in the local wearables market. As Malaysia navigates a period of 6.0 percent year-on-year real GDP growth, the appetite for high-end consumer technology remains resilient. However, with headline inflation at 1.8 percent as of July 2026, many households are increasingly selective with discretionary spending. This discount effectively lowers the barrier to entry for early-adopters who were previously deterred by the premium RM2,099 price tag, turning a luxury health peripheral into a more accessible wellness tool.
For the average Malaysian worker, the convenience of the Galaxy Ring’s gesture controls—such as the double-pinch movement to dismiss alarms or trigger camera shutters—may offer minor productivity gains, though its primary value remains in health monitoring. While the device is marketed as a health aid, consumers should weigh this investment against other rising living costs, such as the current fuel environment, where unsubsidised petrol remains at RM3.77 per litre. Investing in such hardware requires balancing long-term health benefits against current personal financial priorities.
The timing of this discount also highlights the aggressive nature of the current wearable technology ecosystem in Malaysia. Brands are increasingly moving beyond traditional watches to capture users who prefer less intrusive forms of data tracking. By liquidating stock through heavy discounting and leveraging an established loyalty ecosystem, Samsung is likely attempting to increase its user base for the Samsung Health platform, which serves as a central hub for the company's hardware integration.
Looking ahead, it remains to be seen whether this promotion will lead to a permanent price adjustment or if it is merely a strategic move to clear stock for a newer iteration of the device. Samsung has not disclosed the number of units allocated for this promotion, nor has it confirmed if similar incentives will be applied to other wearable product lines in the coming quarter. Prospective buyers should act promptly, as the offer depends heavily on stock availability and the expiry of the promotional window at the end of this month.
