SAP Names Ellian Teo as New Managing Director for Malaysia

SAP has officially appointed Ellian Teo as its new Country Managing Director for Malaysia. She steps into the role succeeding Vipin Chandran, who has relocated to Singapore to continue his career with the company. In her new capacity, Teo will report directly to Liher Urbizu, the President and Managing Director of SAP Southeast Asia.

According to the original publisher, Fintech News Malaysia, Teo brings over two decades of enterprise technology experience to the leadership position. Her professional background spans several critical sectors, including telecommunications, manufacturing, and financial services. Throughout her career, she has frequently collaborated with senior executives, regulators, and boards of directors to navigate complex digital transformation programs.

In her new role, Teo is tasked with leading SAP Malaysia’s overall strategy, operations, and customer success initiatives. The company has indicated that her leadership will prioritize the advancement of cloud computing, data management, and artificial intelligence integration. Outside of her executive responsibilities, she is an active member of the 30% Club and provides mentorship to women pursuing careers within the AI and cloud industries.

Regarding her objectives for the business, Teo stated that her focus will be on deepening customer trust, empowering the local workforce, and strengthening ecosystem partnerships. She intends to support Malaysian organizations in realizing tangible business value through the adoption of digital and AI transformation strategies.
