Shopee Malaysia Introduces TNG eWallet Payments via DuitNow QR

Shopee shoppers can now complete transactions using TNG eWallet while accessing new cashback incentives.

Shopee users in Malaysia now have an additional payment option, with the e-commerce platform officially integrating TNG eWallet through the DuitNow QR system. Customers can select DuitNow QR at the checkout screen to facilitate their transactions using the TNG eWallet app.

According to the original publisher, users can complete the payment process in two ways. Shoppers can either save or screenshot the generated QR code provided by Shopee and upload it into the TNG eWallet app, or they can use the app’s Universal Scan feature to scan the code directly. Once the code is processed, TNG eWallet will display the transaction amount and verify Shopee Marketplace as the merchant, requiring user confirmation to finalize the payment.

Beyond the new payment integration, TNG eWallet has introduced a Shop & Earn feature that provides cashback on eligible Shopee purchases. Under the current promotion, users can receive 1% cashback, which is capped at RM6.67 per transaction. To qualify for this reward, shoppers must access Shopee through the Shop & Earn page within the TNG eWallet app before finalizing their purchase. Cashback typically takes two days to track and fourteen days to confirm.

There are specific exclusions for the cashback program. Purchases involving digital goods, utility payments, telco reloads, vouchers, travel bookings, donations, cinema tickets, events, local services, investments, ShopeePay Near Me transactions, and Shopee LIVE products do not qualify for the reward.

This integration represents a notable expansion in the local digital payments landscape, as it bridges two of Malaysia's most prominent consumer platforms. By leveraging the DuitNow QR infrastructure, the partnership provides a more seamless checkout experience for users who rely on TNG eWallet, while simultaneously incentivizing spending through targeted cashback offers. As digital wallets continue to compete for market share in Malaysia, such collaborations demonstrate a trend toward creating more versatile and interconnected payment ecosystems for everyday consumers.
