TQ Wuling Bingo EV Prices Cut Up To RM6,000 for Malaysia Day
The locally assembled B-segment hatchback sees its entry price drop to RM56,800 as TQ Wuling marks the national celebration with new rebates.

TQ Wuling Malaysia has introduced a promotional campaign in celebration of the upcoming Malaysia Day, offering significant price reductions on its Bingo EV lineup. The promotion effectively lowers the entry point for the company’s first locally assembled model, which is produced through a strategic partnership between Tan Chong Motor and SAIC-GM-Wuling at the Jalan Segambut plant in Kuala Lumpur.
Under the new offer, TQ Wuling is providing a RM4,000 rebate on the Bingo Pro variant and a RM2,000 rebate on the higher-end Bingo Max. Furthermore, the company is including an additional RM2,000 free insurance rebate applicable to both models. According to the original publisher, these incentives bring the total savings to as much as RM6,000 for consumers, depending on the variant chosen.
Following the application of these rebates, the price for the TQ Wuling Bingo Pro has been reduced to RM56,800 from its standard retail price of RM62,800. Meanwhile, the Bingo Max is now priced at RM63,800, down from its usual price of RM67,800. In addition to the price adjustments, the company is including a free portable EV charger with every purchase made during this promotional period.
The move by TQ Wuling is a notable attempt to capture market share among urban commuters who are looking for a transition to zero-emission mobility. By positioning the Bingo Pro at below RM57,000, the company is directly addressing the price sensitivity of the Malaysian mass market, where cost remains the most significant barrier to EV adoption.
For the average Malaysian driver, this pricing strategy arrives at a time when the cost of personal transportation is under scrutiny. With unsubsidised RON95 petrol priced at RM3.77 per litre as of early September 2026—significantly higher than the subsidised rates under the BUDI95 or SKPS schemes—the allure of an electric hatchback as a daily city runabout is becoming more pronounced. This shift is particularly relevant for urban dwellers looking to mitigate the impact of fluctuating pump prices on their monthly household budgets.
From an economic perspective, the availability of a locally assembled (CKD) EV at this price point supports the government’s push for wider electrification, even as the broader economy maintains a strong performance with a 6.0% year-on-year real GDP growth. While inflation remains relatively stable at 1.8%, the presence of affordable alternatives like the Bingo provides a practical hedge against the rising costs of conventional combustion engine vehicle maintenance and fuel.
The automotive sector in Malaysia continues to evolve rapidly, with more manufacturers localising production to benefit from tax incentives and lower landed costs. The TQ Wuling Bingo, which entered the market last December, serves as a test case for how traditional automotive players like Tan Chong Motor can pivot their existing infrastructure to support a new energy vehicle ecosystem. Observers will be watching to see if this promotional momentum will compel other budget-friendly EV manufacturers to adjust their pricing strategies to remain competitive in the final quarter of the year.
While the promotional pricing and inclusion of a portable charger have been confirmed, the specific duration of this Malaysia Day campaign and the total number of units allocated for this rebate remain unstated. Potential buyers should also confirm whether the free insurance rebate is tied to specific panel insurers or if there are additional terms and conditions regarding the financing packages offered by the brand.
