U Mobile Secures Top Network Spot in H1 2026 Rankings

U Mobile has been officially recognized as Malaysia’s best mobile network and fastest 5G provider for the first half of 2026, according to the latest Speedtest Connectivity Report by Ookla.

The findings, based on data collected between January and June 2026, show U Mobile outperforming its domestic rivals with a Speedtest Connectivity Score of 80.34 and a 5G Speed Score of 67.26. In the 5G category, U Mobile recorded a median download speed of 348.73Mbps, placing it significantly ahead of Unifi Mobile, which followed with 252.02Mbps. Additionally, U Mobile logged a median 5G upload speed of 34.38Mbps with a latency of 31ms.

While U Mobile claimed the top spots for speed and overall network performance, the report also highlighted other industry leaders. Unifi Mobile was recognized as having the best mobile video experience, achieving a score of 81. These results align with previous findings from Opensignal, which also identified strong performance metrics for U Mobile earlier in the year.

The performance metrics reflect the network landscape during the first six months of 2026, a period that preceded U Mobile’s full departure from the Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) 5G network.
