Unisem Reports Record Quarterly Revenue of US$143 Million
Increased revenue and improved operational execution have led analysts to upgrade earnings forecasts for the semiconductor firm through 2027.

Unisem has reported record revenue of US$143 million, approximately RM570.1 million, for the second quarter of the 2026 financial year. The results, released on 31 July for the period ending 30 June 2026, represent a 20.0% increase in revenue, while net profit rose by 8.5% to US$2.5 million, or RM9.91 million.
According to the original publisher, the group’s performance confirms that its strategic investments are beginning to yield results. Management previously noted that heavy capital expenditure would likely pay off in 2026 as utilisation rates improved across its Malaysian operations and the Chengdu plant in China grew into a primary profit engine for the group.
Despite the positive momentum in the second quarter, the group recorded a net loss of RM3.45 million for the first half of the year, with total revenue reaching RM1.03 billion. This loss was attributed to the performance in the first quarter, which was hindered by low utilisation and elevated production costs.
Following these results and the company's stronger operational execution, Kenanga has decided to increase its earnings forecasts for Unisem through the 2027 financial year. However, the brokerage noted that the current share price appears to already reflect this expected recovery.
Unisem is currently trading at approximately 81 times its forecast earnings for the 2026 financial year and 39 times its forecast earnings for 2027. As a significant player in the semiconductor space, the company's trajectory remains a key indicator for investors monitoring the recovery of Malaysia’s high-tech manufacturing sector and its integration into global supply chains.
