West River Secures RM22.56 Million Electrical Subcontract in Johor Data Centre

The subsidiary of West River Bhd will undertake electrical works for a new consumer landing station located in the SILC Industrial Area.

West River Bhd has officially secured a RM22.56 million electrical subcontract for a data centre development project situated in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. The contract was awarded to the group’s wholly owned subsidiary, West River Engineering Sdn Bhd, which will be responsible for executing the required electrical installations.

According to the original publisher, the agreement was issued by China State Construction Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd. The scope of work specifically covers electrical services for a consumer landing station located within the SILC Industrial Area.

This subcontract represents a significant operational undertaking for West River Engineering Sdn Bhd as it contributes to the broader data centre infrastructure currently being established in the region. The project is part of a larger construction effort managed by the main contractor in the southern economic corridor of Malaysia.

The development of data centres in Iskandar Puteri serves as a critical component of Malaysia’s growing digital infrastructure landscape. As the country continues to attract significant investments into the hyperscale and co-location data centre sector, projects of this nature are essential for ensuring the reliable electrical connectivity required to support high-performance computing and data processing operations.
