Xiaomi Introduces Redmi A7 Entry-Level Smartphone In Malaysia

Xiaomi Malaysia has officially announced the launch of the Redmi A7, the brand’s newest entry-level 4G smartphone. Priced at RM469, the device is set to hit the Malaysian market on 15 September 2026, offering consumers an affordable hardware option for basic daily tasks.

The handset is equipped with a 6.88-inch LCD screen that supports a 720p HD+ resolution at 1640x720 pixels. A notable feature for this price point is the display’s refresh rate, which reaches up to 120Hz, accompanied by a typical brightness of 450 nits and DC dimming support. Internally, the Redmi A7 is powered by a 12nm Unisoc T7250 octa-core processor. It arrives in a single configuration featuring 3GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.

Powering the device is a 5,200mAh battery. According to the original publisher, the phone will be available in three distinct colour options: Black, Sky Blue, and Orchid Purple. It will be sold through Xiaomi Stores nationwide, the official mi.com website, and Xiaomi’s designated storefronts on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.

While the Redmi A7 offers competitive display specifications for the entry-level segment, it sits in a challenging position within Xiaomi’s own product lineup. It features less RAM and storage capacity compared to the Redmi A7 Pro, despite carrying a higher retail price.
