YTL AI Labs Launches Free ILMUchat Pro Access for Young Malaysians

Young Malaysians aged 18 to 30 are now eligible for a three-month complimentary subscription to ILMUchat Pro, a premium artificial intelligence service offered by YTL AI Labs, as part of the government’s AI Untuk Rakyat initiative.

According to the original publisher, Fintech News Malaysia, the programme officially went live on 31 August. Participants can claim the offer by completing mandatory AI training modules hosted on the Rakyat Digital platform. Once the training requirements are met, users can select the ILMUchat Pro incentive directly from their Rakyat Digital dashboard, activating the subscription through a mandatory login via MyDigital ID to verify eligibility.

The initiative is part of a broader national push led by the Ministry of Digital to accelerate technological literacy. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim introduced the programme on 28 July in Cyberjaya, concurrently unveiling the AI Malaysia framework and the National AI Action Plan 2026–2030. These efforts are aimed at equipping at least 100,000 young Malaysians with essential AI knowledge and practical skills to navigate an increasingly automated global workforce.

YTL AI Labs and MyDIGITAL Corporation are the primary partners supporting the delivery of this training. The ILMUchat Pro subscription, which typically carries a retail value of RM50 per month, represents a significant cost-saving for students and young professionals seeking access to advanced AI capabilities. By mandating the use of MyDigital ID for activation, the government is also encouraging the widespread adoption of its unified national identity system.

For the average Malaysian worker or student, this initiative serves as a bridge to professional upskilling. With the latest national unemployment rate holding steady at 3.0%, or approximately 513,400 people, the emphasis on AI literacy suggests a strategic attempt to ensure the workforce remains competitive in a 6.0% real GDP growth environment. For a young graduate, gaining proficiency in premium AI tools could be the difference in securing roles within the high-tech sector, potentially helping to mitigate job market pressures.
