Selangor Considers Integrated Super App for Local Council Services
The state government aims to streamline administrative processes by consolidating services for its 12 local authorities into a single digital platform.

The Selangor state government is moving toward the development of an integrated mobile application designed to unify the digital services of all 12 local authorities (PBTs) across the state. The initiative is intended to function as a super app, providing residents with a centralized portal to handle administrative dealings and submit public complaints more efficiently.
According to the original publisher, the proposal addresses recurring feedback from citizens who have expressed frustration over the need to navigate multiple separate applications to access various government services. By consolidating these functions, the state hopes to eliminate redundancy and reduce the time required for residents to interact with their respective municipal councils.
State Local Government and Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Ng Suee Lim noted that the administration has acknowledged the need for a more cohesive digital strategy. During a recent state assembly session, he indicated that the existing approach to managing public complaints and local government services is ripe for improvement to ensure greater convenience for the public.
This move marks a significant shift in how Selangor manages its digital interface with the citizenry. By moving toward a single-platform architecture, the state is addressing the logistical challenges of having fragmented digital services, which often complicate routine interactions like permit applications or municipal reports.
For residents, the success of this super app could represent a major upgrade in how they engage with local authorities. Reducing the number of platforms required to interact with government bodies reflects a broader trend toward digital transformation in Malaysia, aiming to make state-level bureaucracy more accessible and responsive to the needs of the modern, tech-savvy population.
